Tasmania - Hobart

On the 30th of December we drove out to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. That is where our epic holiday would end and we were going to celebrate New Years eve. Our stay in Hobart also coincided with the finish of the annual Sydney - Hobart race and the Tate of Tasmania festival. Enough to see and do.

On our way out of of Southwest National Park we  made one more hike to look at some of the magnificent great pines in the forests. These trees were already growing when we were still in the middle ages in Europe. Can you imagine?

When we arrived in Hobart we went out into the city to look at the race boats in the harbor. That is also where we saw some of the monuments dedicated to Abel Tasman, who discovered Tasmania. Some Dutch heritage!
