Tasmania - Corinna

We were going to stay 3 nights in Corinna and had lots of activities planned.

The first day we went for our first serious hike of 2.5 hours with the kids. Through the forest with not too much elevation. Hopefully a good "warm-up" avoiding too much moaning. And in the afternoon we were scheduled for a little river cruise along the Piedmont River.

The second day we were going to hike up Mount Donaldson and do some kayaking on the river itself.

The third day we would then leave for Cradle Mountain, stopping along the way at Philosopher falls for one more walk.

Let's do this!

Whyte River Walk

The walk through this forest was magical. Very green, beautiful trees and lots to see. The route was signposted which also made it fun for Mees and Lina, trying to find the next red flag, which was certainly not always easy!

Piedmont River Cruise

The cruise stopped at Lovers Fall where we got out of the boat and climbed steps to a very pretty, well hidden waterfall.

Mount Donaldson

This was a more serious hike. Basically up the mountain and then back down. It was therefore a bit more challenging to get Mees and Lina up the hill because they felt it was boooorring... They clearly do not yet appreciate the wide views... Once they got going however, they were little mountain goats!

Leaving Corinna

Corinna was not letting us go without a fight :-) The night before, there was a large storm (which kept us awake hoping the roof would not blow off) and on the way out of Corinna we had to do our own road clearing!

Philosopher  Falls

The last walk in this area and it did not disappoint. Beautiful green. Not a soul in sight. We even found a gnome house.
