Nevertheless we decided to change schools. They will both start at a girls school next year that runs all the way till they are eighteen. Usually the entry exams for those schools are when the girls are 11, but the competition is enormous. We therefore decided to try our luck in a non-standard entry year, which basically means they have to do an entry exam, and then be allowed to be put on the waiting list, and then hope for a family to move out of the area, thereby creating space in the existing class. A lot of ifs...
We were lucky enough for both Mees and Lina to be accepted onto the waiting list (such an impressive achievement of my two pumpkins) and then that for both their years (2 and 4) a family moved out!
So in September they will both start a new school. Very exciting!! With any luck they will be there till they go to college :-)
So this meant a lot of emotional goodbyes for both Mees and Lina. Even though they are not moving away, they will not see their current classmates again every single day. Luckily there was enough time for them to say goodbye and agree on a lot of playdates!
