Mount Vernon, Route 5, Williamsburg (Part 2/4)

After an impressing Washington DC it was time to hit the road. The car was bigger than we expected, much to Dirk's delight, and therefore the drives were very pleasant.

First stop was Mount Vernon (Home of President Washington). He was not only general but also a farmer with ideas about farming well ahead of its time.

After that we took the scenic Route 5 to Williamsburg. We only had time to stop at Shirley Plantation, but everything was beautiful and you really do not know where to look next.

Williamsburg itself was a re-enactment of old times past and a delight for Mees and Lina. I must say we picked a couple of things up ourselves as well.
