Work in the garden (again)

We need to replace the fence; it is not going to survive much longer. In order for a contractor to be able to work, we need to get moving with the excess sand. We have been trying to reduce (see previous posts), but it still is A LOT.

So therefore we decided to clear the fence, put the sand in the middle of the garden and then re-assess our options. So this weekend, we did a lot of digging. I still have sore arms...

 

In the meantime, Mees and Lina loved being out and about in the garden. First it was Mees her turn to master the mountain of dragon poo (I do not know where she gets it from)

And then obviously Lina had to give it a try too.

 

After that it was time to help with the digging. They both put in a serious effort ;-)

Unfortunately the sand hid some nasty surprises... There had been a lot of trees in the garden in a previous live, and the tree stumps were still there. If we want to flatten, they have to go... So 4 hours later, with just the use of a mini ax and home and garden saw, we got the ugly thing out!

 

At some point, there will be a good looking garden. It is just taking some time... but I guess it will be all the more enjoyable.
