The Bollen family discovered London as a family on their own on Friday, while we were still at work. And on Saturday we decided to visit Hampton Court (http://www.hrp.org.uk/HamptonCourtPalace/). It is a very large castle, with beautiful and very big gardens, and most importantly, only 30 minutes by train. So the ideal family outing. The weather was forecasted to be dry, so after a fun and hectic breakfast we set out.
We did not see much of the inside of the castle, because the kids liked the outdoors much more and clearly wanted too lose energy and run around. The weather was lovely so most of the day was spend outside. We can therefore definitely go back, because we have only seen 5% of the inside, at most, and maybe 10% of the gardens. I learned, yet again, not to be ambitious with lots of kids in tow.
As the kids got tired, at one point everybody wanted to be carried, which we indulged since we only had one double stroller for five kids...
All-in-all a very successful day!
