Mees joined the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) in her new school: it is a youth organisation in the United Kingdom, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, which operates in schools, sub divided into Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army and Royal Air Force sections. Not all schools offer it, but her new school does.
She decided on Army because her first choice (Air Force) had zero girls and that was a bridge too far. Army had at least her and one other girl.
Super proud that she is sticking with her ambitions.
