November is the month of the poppy. You can buy them everywhere and as such donate to numerous charities that support the troops and their families.
The 11th of November is Remembrance Day itself . Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day owing to the tradition of wearing a remembrance poppy) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.
You can wear the poppy the entire month of November though.
Mees and Lina have grown up with this tradition since they started school in the UK, and their Singapore school observed this tradition as well.
Now back in the UK it is much more present again, and I really appreciate it.
This years several tube stations have poppy signs and everyone finds their own way to express their creativity.
